Launching the Connect portal to your students is easy! Here's the process you'll want to follow:
- Compose your launch message: You want your message to compel your students to use the website - why its important and how it will help them. An example launch message is attached at the end of this article. You can also look at the GradSnapp Connect Tour for an overview of features you may want to share with your students.
- Text or email your students the Registration link: We recommend you use Student Search to find the students you want to register, then send a bulk text or email with the registration link. The text/email will be captured in each student's profile. The registration link is:
https://connect.gradsnapp.com/<YourTenantName>/Account/RegisterEmail
(replace <YourTenantName> with your own tenant name).
Note: Students can also get to the Registration page from the "Register Account" link on the Connect login page, but the above link takes them directly there.
Suggestions & Best Practices
- Before your launch, make the site more interesting to your students by pre-populating it with FAQs, Resources, and Newsfeeds. You can add these via the Admin Management option in the Admin Portal, under Connect Management:
- Give you students a "treasure hunt" (assign this as a Task) that will get them to explore the site and get comfortable with Tasks. For example, have them find another student in the program, ask them a couple questions, and write up their answers as their reply to the Task. Have the student tell you 3 resources they looked at. Ask them to add their picture. Ask them to upload a picture of their pet, something that represents a favorite pastime or hobby, or reflects their greatest talent. Be creative and have fun!
- Depending on your student engagement schedule, you can invite them to an upcoming event, assign them a Survey (suggestion: let them know what information and documents they'll need to complete it), or send them a Task with a link to your calendar and ask them to schedule a time to meet with you.
- Consider doing a "beta launch" with a small group of students first, and use their feedback to plan your full launch.
- GradSnapp is mobile-friendly! Tell your students how to access the site from their phone or tablet - see this article: Using GradSnapp on a Mobile Device.
- When a student first logs into GradSnapp they will see your Welcome Letter, then your Terms & Conditions (which they must accept to proceed). Then they are taken to the Registration survey, which you can see here.
Pro-Tip: The Registration survey asks "What are your plans after high school?" If you have students who have already graduated high school, tell them to answer that question as "College." Otherwise, the system will not calculate SRI's for them.
The attached article is an example of a launch message you might send to your students introducing them to the Connect portal.
Note: Replace <Tenantname> with your own website's name.
